“ If only someone would listen to me! Look, I will sign my name to my defense. Let the Almighty answer me. Let my accuser write out the charges against me.

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:“ Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. (niv)

If only I knew where to find him; if only I could go to his dwelling!I would state my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.I would find out what he would answer me, and consider what he would say to me.Would he vigorously oppose me? No, he would not press charges against me.There the upright can establish their innocence before him, and there I would be delivered forever from my judge. (niv)

How much less, then, will he listen when you say that you do not see him, that your case is before him and you must wait for him, (niv)

“ Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. (niv)

I go about blackened, but not by the sun; I stand up in the assembly and cry for help. (niv)

Vindicate me, Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered. (niv)

His anger burns against me; he counts me among his enemies. (niv)

“ Though I cry,‘ Violence!’ I get no response; though I call for help, there is no justice. (niv)

Yet God has found fault with me; he considers me his enemy.He fastens my feet in shackles; he keeps close watch on all my paths.’ (niv)

Why do you hide your face and consider me your enemy? (niv)

But I desire to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with God. (niv)

“ Give me, O God, the pledge you demand. Who else will put up security for me? (niv)

I am the same as you in God’s sight; I too am a piece of clay. (niv)
