if the members of my household have never said,‘ If only there were someone who has not been satisfied from Job’s meat!’–

若我帐棚的人未尝说，谁不以主人的食物吃饱呢？

若我帐棚中的人未曾说：‘谁不以他的肉食吃饱呢？’

若我帐棚中的人未曾说：‘谁不以他的肉食吃饱呢？’

住在我帐篷中的人，谁没饱餐我的肉食呢？

我家里的人若没有说：‘谁能找出哪一个没有饱吃他的肉食的呢？’

若我帳棚的人未嘗說，誰不以主人的食物吃飽呢？（

若我帳棚中的人未曾說：『誰不以他的肉食吃飽呢？』

若我帳棚中的人未曾說：『誰不以他的肉食吃飽呢？』

住在我帳篷中的人，誰沒飽餐我的肉食呢？

我家裡的人若沒有說：‘誰能找出哪一個沒有飽吃他的肉食的呢？’

若我帳棚的家人未嘗說：「誰不以我主人的肉食而飽足呢？」（

若我幕中人未嘗雲、孰見有人不得其食而飽、

家之人未嘗曰、食無肉、枵腹堪嗟。

我家家原文作幕之人、何曾不指我云、孰不因其施食而得飽、

if those of my household have never said,‘ Who has not been filled with Job’s meat?’—

The workers in my house always said,‘ Job always gives plenty of food to everyone.’

if the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who is there that has not been filled with his meat?’

“ My servants have never said,‘ He let others go hungry.’

Haven’t the members of my household said,“ Who is there who has not had enough to eat at Job’s table?”

Have the people of my tent not said,‘ Who can find one who has not been satisfied with his meat’?

If the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who is there that has not been satisfied with his meat?’

If the men of my tent have not said, Who can find one that hath not been filled with his meat?

Haven’t the members of my household said,“ Who is there who has not had enough to eat at Job’s table?”

If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied.

if the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who can find one who has not been filled with his meat?’

Abishai said to David,“ Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me drive the spear right through him into the ground with one swift jab! A second jab won’t be necessary!”

You gave the weary no water to drink and from the hungry you withheld food.

When evil men attack me to devour my flesh, when my adversaries and enemies attack me, they stumble and fall.

David’s men said to him,“ This is the day about which the LORD said to you,‘ I will give your enemy into your hand, and you can do to him whatever seems appropriate to you.’” So David got up and quietly cut off an edge of Saul’s robe.

Today your own eyes see how the LORD delivered you– this very day– into my hands in the cave. Some told me to kill you, but I had pity on you and said,‘ I will not extend my hand against my lord, for he is the LORD’s chosen one.’

Why do you pursue me like God does? Will you never be satiated with my flesh?

Then Johanan son of Kareah spoke privately to Gedaliah there at Mizpah,“ Let me go and kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah before anyone knows about it. Otherwise he will kill you and all the Judeans who have rallied around you will be scattered. Then what remains of Judah will disappear.”But Gedaliah son of Ahikam said to Johanan son of Kareah,“ Do not do that because what you are saying about Ishmael is not true.”

Abishai son of Zeruiah replied,“ For this should not Shimei be put to death? After all, he cursed the LORD’s anointed!”But David said,“ What do we have in common, you sons of Zeruiah? You are like my enemy today! Should anyone be put to death in Israel today? Don’t you realize that today I am king over Israel?”

Then one of them struck the high priest’s slave, cutting off his right ear.But Jesus said,“ Enough of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said,“ Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”But Jesus turned and rebuked them,

Then Abishai son of Zeruiah said to the king,“ Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over and cut off his head!”But the king said,“ What do we have in common, you sons of Zeruiah? If he curses because the LORD has said to him,‘ Curse David!’, who can say to him,‘ Why have you done this?’”

If they say,“ Come with us! We will lie in wait to shed blood; we will ambush an innocent person capriciously.We will swallow them alive like Sheol, those full of vigor like those going down to the Pit.

but these men lie in wait for their own blood, they ambush their own lives!

Do not let them say to themselves,“ Aha! We have what we wanted!” Do not let them say,“ We have devoured him!”

yet you hate what is good, and love what is evil. You flay my people’s skin and rip the flesh from their bones.You devour my people’s flesh, strip off their skin, and crush their bones. You chop them up like flesh in a pot– like meat in a kettle.
