“ If I have put my confidence in gold, And called fine gold my trust,

“我若以黄金为指望，对精金说：你是我的倚靠；

“我若以黄金为我的指望，对纯金说：你是我的倚靠；

“我若以黄金为我的指望，对纯金说：你是我的倚靠；

“我若仰仗金子，依靠纯金，

我若以黄金为我所信靠的，又对精金说：‘你是我所靠赖的’；

我若以黃金為指望，對精金說：你是我的倚靠；

「我若以黃金為我的指望，對純金說：你是我的倚靠；

「我若以黃金為我的指望，對純金說：你是我的倚靠；

「我若仰仗金子，依靠純金，

我若以黃金為我所信靠的，又對精金說：‘你是我所靠賴的’；

『我若以金子為我所安心信賴的，而對黃金說：「你是我所倚靠」；

我若惟金是望、謂精金曰、爾為我之所恃、

我不以金為寶、亦不以兼金為可恃。

何曾以金為望、何曾云精金為我所恃、

“ If I have put my trust in gold or said to pure gold,‘ You are my security,’

“ Suppose I’ve put my trust in gold. I’ve said to pure gold,‘ You make me feel secure.’

“ If I have made gold my trust or called fine gold my confidence,

“ Have I put my trust in money or felt secure because of my gold?

If I placed my confidence in gold or called fine gold my trust,

“ If I have made gold my hope, Or said to fine gold,‘ You are my confidence’;

If I have made gold my hope, And have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

If I placed my confidence in gold or called fine gold my trust,

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold,[ Thou art] my confidence;

“ If I have put my confidence in gold or said to pure gold,‘ You are my security!’

“ If I have made gold my hope, and have said to the fine gold,‘ You are my confidence;’

One who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.

The rich person’s wealth is his fortress, The ruin of the poor is their poverty.

Those who trust in their wealth And boast in the abundance of their riches?No one can by any means redeem another Or give God a ransom for him—

“ Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted in the abundance of his riches And was strong in his evil desire.”

But He said to them,“ Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.”

Now Jacob heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying,“ Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s, and from what belonged to our father he has made all this wealth.”

Do not trust in oppression, And do not vainly rely on robbery; If wealth increases, do not set your heart on it.

So that I will not be full and deny You and say,“ Who is the Lord?” And that I will not become impoverished and steal, And profane the name of my God.

For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.

And the disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus responded again and* said to them,“ Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

For when he dies, he will take nothing with him; His wealth will not descend after him.

Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.

otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, and you build good houses and live in them,and when your herds and your flocks increase, and your silver and gold increase, and everything that you have increases,then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;
