If I have refused the wishes of the poor or let the widow’s eyes go blind,

“我若不容贫寒人得其所愿，或叫寡妇眼中失望，

“我若不让贫寒人遂其所愿，或是叫寡妇眼中失望，

“我若不让贫寒人遂其所愿，或是叫寡妇眼中失望，

我何曾拒绝穷人的请求，或使寡妇眼露失望之情，

我若不给穷人所要的，或使寡妇的眼所期待的落空；

我若不容貧寒人得其所願，或叫寡婦眼中失望，

「我若不讓貧寒人遂其所願，或是叫寡婦眼中失望，

「我若不讓貧寒人遂其所願，或是叫寡婦眼中失望，

我何曾拒絕窮人的請求，或使寡婦眼露失望之情，

我若不給窮人所要的，或使寡婦的眼所期待的落空；

我若將貧寒人所願望的留住不給，或是讓寡婦的眼渴望到失明，

我若禁貧者得其所願、使嫠婦之目失望、

貧者所欲我施之、嫠者所望我遂之。

何曾使貧者不得所願、使嫠婦不得所望、

“ If I have denied the desires of the poor or let the eyes of the widow grow weary,

“ I haven’t said no to what poor people have wanted. I haven’t let widows lose their hope.

“ If I have withheld anything that the poor desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

“ Have I refused to help the poor, or crushed the hopes of widows?

“ If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

“ If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

If I have withheld the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

If I have refused the wishes of the poor or let the widow’s eyes go blind,

If I have withheld the poor from[ their] desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

If I have refused to give the poor what they desired, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

“ If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

They asked only that we would remember the poor, which I had made every effort to do.

For he oppressed and abandoned the poor; he seized a house he did not build.

I chirp like a swallow or a crane; I moan like a dove. My eyes grow weak looking upward. Lord, I am oppressed; support me.

All the while our eyes were failing as we looked in vain for help; we watched from our towers for a nation that would not save us.

He distributes freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted in honor.

Each of the disciples, according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brothers and sisters who lived in Judea.

Your sons and daughters will be given to another people, while your eyes grow weary looking for them every day. But you will be powerless to do anything.

I am weary from my crying; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God.

My eyes grow weary looking for your salvation and for your righteous promise.

You gave no water to the thirsty and withheld food from the famished,while the land belonged to a powerful man and an influential man lived on it.You sent widows away empty-handed, and the strength of the fatherless was crushed.

My eyes grow weary looking for what you have promised; I ask,“ When will you comfort me?”

He longed to be filled with what fell from the rich man’s table, but instead the dogs would come and lick his sores.

“ If there is a poor person among you, one of your brothers within any of your city gates in the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother.Instead, you are to open your hand to him and freely loan him enough for whatever need he has.Be careful that there isn’t this wicked thought in your heart,‘ The seventh year, the year of canceling debts, is near,’ and you are stingy toward your poor brother and give him nothing. He will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty.Give to him, and don’t have a stingy heart when you give, and because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you do.

So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.
