If I have sinned, You will take note of me, And will not acquit me of my guilt.If I am wicked, woe to me! But if I am righteous, I dare not lift up my head. I am full of shame, and conscious of my misery.And should my head be high, You would hunt me like a lion; And You would show Your power against me again.You renew Your witnesses against me And increase Your anger toward me; Hardship after hardship is with me.

His anger has torn me and hunted me down, He has gnashed at me with His teeth; My enemy glares at me.They have gaped at me with their mouths, They have slapped me on the cheek with contempt; They have massed themselves against me.God hands me over to criminals, And tosses me into the hands of the wicked.I was at ease, but He shattered me, And He has grasped me by my neck and shaken me to pieces; He has also set me up as His target.His arrows surround me. He splits my kidneys open without mercy; He pours out my bile on the ground.He breaks through me with breach after breach; He runs at me like a warrior.

You have a strong arm; Your hand is mighty, Your right hand is exalted.

Oh, that God would decide to crush me, That He would let loose His hand and cut me off!

All your lovers have forgotten you, They do not seek you; For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, With the punishment of a cruel one, Because your wrongdoing is great, And your sins are numerous.

Will You scare away a scattered leaf? Or will You pursue the dry chaff?For You write bitter things against me And make me inherit the guilty deeds of my youth.You put my feet in the stocks And watch all my paths; You set a limit for the soles of my feet,While I am decaying like a rotten thing, Like a garment that is moth eaten.

Know then that God has wronged me And has surrounded me with His net.“ Behold, I cry,‘ Violence!’ but I get no answer; I shout for help, but there is no justice.He has blocked my way so that I cannot pass, And He has put darkness on my paths.He has stripped my honor from me And removed the crown from my head.

Will the Lord reject forever? And will He never be favorable again?Has His favor ceased forever? Has His promise come to an end forever?Has God forgotten to be gracious, Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? Selah

Would He contend with me by the greatness of His power? No, surely He would pay attention to me.

Why do you persecute me as God does, And are not satisfied with my flesh?

Is it right for You indeed to oppress, To reject the work of Your hands, And to look favorably on the plan of the wicked?

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time,

Have I sinned? What have I done to You, Watcher of mankind? Why have You made me Your target, So that I am a burden to myself?Why then do You not forgive my wrongdoing And take away my guilt? For now I will lie down in the dust; And You will search for me, but I will no longer exist.”
