They came[ upon me] as a wide breaking in[ of waters]: in the desolation they rolled themselves[ upon me].

他們闖進來如闖大破口，在廢墟之中輥過來，

他們前來、如同闖進闊大的破口；輥輥而來，把我壓在毁壞之下。

其來也、如由巨缺、在毀壞之間、軫轉於我身、

突如其來、圮其城垣、乘機擁入。

突如其來、勢如大垣之傾頹、蜂擁而至、如墻傾頹、磚石滾落、或作彼滾然群集如城垣傾圮而敵軍擁入

They advance as through a gaping breach; amid the ruins they come rolling in.

They attack me like troops smashing through a wall. Among the destroyed buildings they come rolling in.

As through a wide breach they come; amid the crash they roll on.

They come at me from all directions. They jump on me when I am down.

Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many,[ even] the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach[ even] to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
