“ But now those who are younger than I mock me, Whose fathers I refused to put with the dogs of my flock.

越至於今、年少於我者、反加訕笑、彼之父兄、自我視之、比之守羊之犬、不若也。

今也年少於我者訕笑我、其人之祖父、自我視之、不堪與守我群羊之犬同處、

“ But now they mock me, men younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs.

“ But now those who are younger than I am make fun of me. I wouldn’t even put their parents with my sheep dogs!

“ But now they laugh at me, men who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.

“ But now I am mocked by people younger than I, by young men whose fathers are not worthy to run with my sheepdogs.

But now they mock me, men younger than I am, whose fathers I would have refused to put with my sheep dogs.

“ But now they mock at me, men younger than I, Whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock.

But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, Whose fathers I disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.

I am a joke to my friends, The one who called on God and He answered him; The just and blameless man is a joke.

and he said to them,“ You brought this man to me on the ground that he is inciting the people to revolt; and behold, after examining Him before you, I have found no basis at all in the case of this man for the charges which you are bringing against Him.

And they* dressed Him in purple, and after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on Him;and they began saluting Him:“ Hail, King of the Jews!”And they repeatedly beat His head with a reed and spit on Him, and kneeling, they bowed down before Him.And after they had mocked Him, they took the purple cloak off Him and put His own garments on Him. And they* led Him out to crucify Him.

And some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists and say to Him,“ Prophesy!” Then the officers took custody of Him and slapped Him in the face.

But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered themselves together; The afflicted people whom I did not know gathered together against me, They slandered me without ceasing.Like godless jesters at a feast, They gnashed at me with their teeth.

But the Jews, becoming jealous and taking along some wicked men from the marketplace, formed a mob and set the city in an uproar; and they attacked the house of Jason and were seeking to bring them out to the people.

Now he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the road, some young boys came out from the city and ridiculed him and said to him,“ Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!”

And the people stood by, watching. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying,“ He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One.”

One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying,“ Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!”

Those who sit in the gate talk about me, And songs of mockery by those habitually drunk are about me.

But they cried out all together, saying,“ Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas!”

One of them, a prophet of their own, said,“ Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

“ He has removed my brothers far from me, And my acquaintances have completely turned away from me.My relatives have failed, And my close friends have forgotten me.Those who live in my house and my servant women consider me a stranger. I am a foreigner in their sight.I call to my servant, but he does not answer; I have to implore his favor with my mouth.My breath is offensive to my wife, And I am loathsome to my own brothers.Even young children despise me; I stand up and they speak against me.All my associates loathe me, And those I love have turned against me.

The young men saw me and hid themselves, And the old men arose and stood.The leaders stopped talking And put their hands on their mouths;The voices of the prominent people were hushed, And their tongues stuck to their palates.

And the people will be oppressed, Each one by another, and each one by his neighbor; The youth will assault the elder, And the contemptible person will assault the one honored.
