今也年少於我者姍笑我、若輩之父、我曾藐視、不欲列之於守羊之犬中、

越至於今、年少於我者、反加訕笑、彼之父兄、自我視之、比之守羊之犬、不若也。

今也年少於我者訕笑我、其人之祖父、自我視之、不堪與守我群羊之犬同處、

“ But now they mock me, men younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs.

“ But now those who are younger than I am make fun of me. I wouldn’t even put their parents with my sheep dogs!

“ But now they laugh at me, men who are younger than I, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock.

“ But now I am mocked by people younger than I, by young men whose fathers are not worthy to run with my sheepdogs.

But now they mock me, men younger than I am, whose fathers I would have refused to put with my sheep dogs.

I am as one that is a laughing- stock to his neighbor, I who called upon God, and he answered: The just, the perfect man is a laughing- stock.

and said unto them, Ye brought unto me this man, as one that perverteth the people: and behold, I, having examined him before you, found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:

And they clothe him with purple, and platting a crown of thorns, they put it on him;and they began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!And they smote his head with a reed, and spat upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.And when they had mocked him, they took off from him the purple, and put on him his garments. And they lead him out to crucify him.

And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the officers received him with blows of their hands.

The young men saw me and hid themselves, And the aged rose up and stood;The princes refrained from talking, And laid their hand on their mouth;The voice of the nobles was hushed, And their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.

And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the old man, and the base against the honorable.
