與那些為自己重建荒涼之處，地上的君王和謀士在一起；

與世上的君王和謀臣作伴——他們建造的宮殿已荒廢，

與世上那些為自己建造陵墓的君王和謀士同睡，

跟地上的君王和謀士、跟為自己造荒陵的同安息，

與為己重建邱墟之君相同在、

國王議士、當年所築之陵墓、而今安在。元戎巨富、金銀充棟、而今烏有、我欲與之同歸於盡。

世間君王卿相、卿相或作義士為己建陵墓、彼皆死亡、我亦與之相同、

with kings and rulers of the earth, who built for themselves places now lying in ruins,

I’d be with the earth’s kings and rulers. They had built for themselves places that are now destroyed.

with kings and counselors of the earth who rebuilt ruins for themselves,

I would rest with the world’s kings and prime ministers, whose great buildings now lie in ruins.

with the kings and counselors of the earth, who rebuilt ruined cities for themselves,

With kings and counselors of the earth, Who rebuilt ruins for themselves;

With kings and counselors of the earth, Who built ruins for themselves,

With kings and counsellors of the earth, Who built up waste places for themselves;

with the kings and counselors of the earth, who rebuilt ruined cities for themselves,

with kings and counselors of the earth who built for themselves places now desolate,

with kings and counselors of the earth, who built up waste places for themselves;

And he dwelleth in desolate cities,[ and] in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.

All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?Thy pomp is brought down to the grave,[ and] the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning![ how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee,[ and] consider thee,[ saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;None[ of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:( For the redemption of their soul[ is] precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)That he should still live for ever,[ and] not see corruption.For he seeth[ that] wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

What man[ is he that] liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

Damascus[ was] thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and white wool.Dan also and Javan going to and fro occupied in thy fairs: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were in thy market.Dedan[ was] thy merchant in precious clothes for chariots.Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these[ were they] thy merchants.The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they[ were] thy merchants: they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur,[ and] Chilmad,[ were] thy merchants.These[ were] thy merchants in all sorts[ of things], in blue clothes, and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.The ships of Tarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that[ are] in thee, and in all thy company which[ is] in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.The suburbs shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.And all that handle the oar, the mariners,[ and] all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land;And shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall wallow themselves in the ashes:And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart[ and] bitter wailing.And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee,[ saying], What[ city is] like Tyrus, like the destroyed in the midst of the sea?

For I know[ that] thou wilt bring me[ to] death, and[ to] the house appointed for all living.

He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

Woe unto them that join house to house,[ that] lay field to field, till[ there be] no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

And[ they that shall be] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

[ There is] no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither[ hath he] power in the day of death: and[ there is] no discharge in[ that] war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
