when the Almighty was still with me and my children were around me,

The Mighty One was still with me. My children were all around me.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine Within your house, Your children like olive plants Around your table.

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

“ On my bed night after night I sought him Whom my soul loves; I sought him but did not find him.‘ I must arise now and go around in the city; In the streets and in the public squares I must seek him whom my soul loves.’ I sought him but did not find him.

Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, I was dismayed.

He has brought me to his banquet hall, And his banner over me is love.

The eternal God is a hiding place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from you, And said,‘ Destroy!’So Israel lives in security, The fountain of Jacob secluded, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens also drip down dew.Blessed are you, Israel; Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, The shield of your help, And He who is the sword of your majesty! So your enemies will cringe before you, And you will trample on their high places.”

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Grandchildren are the crown of the old, And the glory of sons is their fathers.

Oh that I knew how to find Him, That I might come to His home!

In God we have boasted all day long, And we will give thanks to Your name forever. SelahYet You have rejected us and brought us to dishonor, And do not go out with our armies.

He also had seven sons and three daughters.He named the first Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren happuch.In all the land no women were found as beautiful as Job’s daughters; and their father gave them inheritances among their brothers.After this, Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons and his grandsons, four generations.

Hope of Israel, Its Savior in time of distress, Why are You like a stranger in the land, Or like a traveler who has pitched his tent for the night?

For You are the God of my strength; why have You rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him,“ The Lord is with you, valiant warrior.”Then Gideon said to him,“ O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying,‘ Did the Lord not bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”

“ Behold, I go forward but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;When He acts on the left, I cannot see Him; He turns to the right, but I cannot see Him.But He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold.

Seven sons and three daughters were born to him.His possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and very many servants; and that man was the greatest of all the men of the east.His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send word and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send word to them and consecrate them, getting up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said,“ Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Job did so continually.

And Jesus said to them,“ The attendants of the groom cannot mourn as long as the groom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the groom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
