烏斯地有一個人名叫約伯。這人完全、正直、敬畏上帝、遠離惡事。他生了七個兒子，三個女兒。他的家產有七千隻羊，三千匹駱駝，五百對牛，五百匹母驢，並有許多僕婢。這人在東方人中為至大。他的兒子按着日子各在自己家裏擺設宴席，派人去請他們的三個姊妹來，與他們一同吃喝。宴席的日子過了，約伯派人去叫他們自潔。他清早起來，按着他們眾人的數目獻燔祭，因為他說：「恐怕我的兒子犯了罪，心中背棄上帝。」約伯常常這樣行。

你豈不是四面圈上籬笆圍護他和他的家，以及他一切所有的嗎？他手所做的都蒙你賜福，他的家產也在地上增多。

因為耶和華喜愛公平，不撇棄他的聖民，他們永蒙保佑；但惡人的後裔必被剪除。

我先前怎樣看守他們，為要拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆、苦害，也必照樣看守他們，為要建立、栽植。這是耶和華說的。

我也照樣度過虛空的歲月，愁煩的夜晚指定給我。

耶穌基督的僕人、雅各的兄弟猶大，寫信給那些被召、在父上帝裏蒙愛、為耶穌基督保守的人。
