And he said to the human race,“ The fear of the Lord— that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.”

He said to human beings,“ Have respect for the Lord. That will prove you are wise. Avoid evil. That will show you have understanding.”

And he said to man,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

And this is what he says to all humanity:‘ The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’”

He said to mankind,“ The fear of the Lord— that is wisdom. And to turn from evil is understanding.”

And to mankind He said,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to turn away from evil is understanding.’ ”

And to man He said,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’”

He said to mankind,“ The fear of the Lord is this: wisdom. And to turn from evil is understanding.”

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that[ is] wisdom; and to depart from evil[ is] understanding.

The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth for ever.

Be not wise in thine own eyes; Fear Jehovah, and depart from evil:

The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, that shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

This is the end of the matter; all hath been heard: fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.

Who is wise and understanding among you? let him show by his good life his works in meekness of wisdom.But if ye have bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, glory not and lie not against the truth.This wisdom is not a wisdom that cometh down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.For where jealousy and faction are, there is confusion and every vile deed.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, without hypocrisy.

Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it.

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

The secret things belong unto Jehovah our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Unto you, O men, I call; And my voice is to the sons of men.O ye simple, understand prudence; And, ye fools, be of an understanding heart.

Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world.When he established the heavens, I was there: When he set a circle upon the face of the deep,When he made firm the skies above, When the fountains of the deep became strong,When he gave to the sea its bound, That the waters should not transgress his commandment, When he marked out the foundations of the earth;Then I was by him, as a master workman; And I was daily his delight, Rejoicing always before him,Rejoicing in his habitable earth; And my delight was with the sons of men.Now therefore, my sons, hearken unto me; For blessed are they that keep my ways.

And let him turn away from evil, and do good; Let him seek peace, and pursue it.

The law of the wise is a fountain of life, That one may depart from the snares of death.

Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.
