How great God is! We’ll never completely understand him. We’ll never find out how long he has lived.

Do any of the worthless gods of the nations bring rain? Do the skies send down showers all by themselves? No. Lord our God, you send the rain. So we put our hope in you. You are the one who does all these things.

He holds lightning bolts in his hands. He commands them to strike their marks.

They satisfy the needs of dry and empty lands. They make grass start growing there.

He makes Mount Hermon jump like a young wild ox.The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning.The voice of the Lord shakes the desert. The Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.The voice of the Lord twists the oak trees. It strips the forests bare. And in his temple everyone cries out,“ Glory!”The Lord on his throne rules over the flood. The Lord rules from his throne as King forever.

People of Judah, ask the Lord to send rain in the spring. He is the one who sends the thunderstorms. He sends down showers of rain on all people. He gives everyone the plants in the fields.

Praise him, lightning and hail, snow and clouds. Praise him, you stormy winds that obey him.
