They search the sources of the rivers and bring hidden things to light.

They search the places where the rivers begin. They bring hidden things out into the light.

He dams up the streams so that they do not trickle, and the thing that is hidden he brings out to light.

He dams up the streams from flowing so that he may bring to light what is hidden.

He dams up the streams from flowing, And brings to light what is hidden.

He dams up the streams from trickling; What is hidden he brings forth to light.

This is what the Lord says:“ I will go before you, Cyrus, and level the mountains. I will smash down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness— secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.

When I speak to the rivers and say,‘ Dry up!’ they will be dry.

I have dug wells in many foreign lands and refreshed myself with their water. With the sole of my foot, I stopped up all the rivers of Egypt!’

So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time— before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.
