He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more; when he opens his eyes, all is gone.

Sinful people lie down wealthy, but their wealth is taken away. When they open their eyes, everything is gone.

For I know that You will bring me to death, And to the house appointed for all living.

Yet he will perish forever like his own refuse; Those who have seen him will say,‘ Where is he?’He will fly away like a dream, and not be found; Yes, he will be chased away like a vision of the night.The eye that saw him will see him no more, Nor will his place behold him anymore.

So man lies down and does not rise. Till the heavens are no more, They will not awake Nor be roused from their sleep.“ Oh, that You would hide me in the grave, That You would conceal me until Your wrath is past, That You would appoint me a set time, and remember me!If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, Till my change comes.You shall call, and I will answer You; You shall desire the work of Your hands.
