Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain?

你们自己也都见过，为何全然变为虚妄呢？

看哪，你们自己也都见过，为何全变为这样虚妄呢？

其实你们也曾亲眼目睹，为何还讲这些虚妄之言？

你们都亲自见过，你们为什么成了这么虚妄呢？

你們自己也都見過，為何全然變為虛妄呢？

看哪，你們自己也都見過，為何全變為這樣虛妄呢？

看哪，你們自己也都見過，為何全變為這樣虛妄呢？

其實你們也曾親眼目睹，為何還講這些虛妄之言？

你們都親自見過，你們為甚麼成了這麼虛妄呢？

看哪、你們自己也都見過，為甚麼你們全變為虛妄呢？

爾皆見此、何故成為虛妄、

爾曹咸知斯理、何故出此迂談。

爾曹既知之、何故出此虛誕之語、

You have all seen this yourselves. Why then this meaningless talk?

You have seen those things yourselves. So why do you continue your useless talk?

Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain?

But you have seen all this, yet you say all these useless things to me.

All of you have seen this for yourselves, why do you keep up this empty talk?

Behold, all of you have seen it; Why then do you talk of nothing?

Surely all of you have seen it; Why then do you behave with complete nonsense?

Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; Why then are ye become altogether vain?

All of you have seen this for yourselves, why do you keep up this empty talk?

Behold, all ye yourselves have seen[ it]; why then are ye thus altogether vain?

If you yourselves have all seen this, Why in the world do you continue this meaningless talk?

Allow me, and I also will speak; After I have spoken, mock on.

For all this I laid to my heart, even to explore all this: that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God; whether it is love or hatred, man doesn’t know it; all is before them.All things come alike to all. There is one event to the righteous and to the wicked; to the good, to the clean, to the unclean, to him who sacrifices, and to him who doesn’t sacrifice. As is the good, so is the sinner; he who takes an oath, as he who fears an oath.This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one event to all: yes also, the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

“ How long will you torment me, and crush me with words?You have reproached me ten times. You aren’t ashamed that you attack me.

Shall vain words have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer?

There is a vanity which is done on the earth, that there are righteous men to whom it happens according to the work of the wicked. Again, there are wicked men to whom it happens according to the work of the righteous. I said that this also is vanity.

How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what does it reprove?Do you intend to reprove words, since the speeches of one who is desperate are as wind?Yes, you would even cast lots for the fatherless, and make merchandise of your friend.Now therefore be pleased to look at me, for surely I will not lie to your face.Please return. Let there be no injustice. Yes, return again. My cause is righteous.

But you are forgers of lies. You are all physicians of no value.Oh that you would be completely silent! Then you would be wise.Hear now my reasoning. Listen to the pleadings of my lips.Will you speak unrighteously for God, and talk deceitfully for him?Will you show partiality to him? Will you contend for God?Is it good that he should search you out? Or as one deceives a man, will you deceive him?

For you say,‘ Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?’Haven’t you asked wayfaring men? Don’t you know their evidences,that the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, That they are led out to the day of wrath?

“ How have you helped him who is without power! How have you saved the arm that has no strength!How have you counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!To whom have you uttered words? Whose spirit came out of you?

Surely there are mockers with me. My eye dwells on their provocation.
