He alone spreads out the heavens, And treads on the waves of the sea;
It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water.Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was brought forth;While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world.When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep,
Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind,Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever,
Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it:
Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.
For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters.
