Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold,[ there was] none of you that convinced Job,[ or] that answered his words:Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.

[ Is] not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?

My words[ shall be of] the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.

If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.

Who[ is] this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find[ one] wise[ man] among you.

Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?What knowest thou, that we know not?[ what] understandest thou, which[ is] not in us?With us[ are] both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.

But I have understanding as well as you; I[ am] not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips[ shall be] right things.For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness[ is] an abomination to my lips.All the words of my mouth[ are] in righteousness;[ there is] nothing froward or perverse in them.They[ are] all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness[ and] thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers[ thereof].I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness,[ even] of thine only.O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto[ this] generation,[ and] thy power to every one[ that] is to come.

Hear this, all[ ye] people; give ear, all[ ye] inhabitants of the world:Both low and high, rich and poor, together.My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart[ shall be] of understanding.I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.
