What advice you have offered to one without wisdom! And what great insight you have displayed!

You haven’t offered advice to those who aren’t wise! In fact, you haven’t understood anything at all!

How you have counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!

How you have enlightened my stupidity! What wise advice you have offered!

What advice you have given to one without wisdom! What helpful insight you have abundantly provided!

How have you counseled one who has no wisdom? And how have you declared sound advice to many?

How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom, And plentifully declared sound knowledge!

How you have counseled the unwise and thoroughly explained the path to success!

How hast thou counselled[ him that hath] no wisdom? and[ how] hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

How you have advised the one without wisdom, and abundantly revealed your insight!

How have you counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!

Look, I waited for your conclusions; I listened to your insights as you sought for words.I paid close attention to you. Yet no one proved Job wrong; not one of you refuted his arguments.So do not claim,“ We have found wisdom; let God deal with him, not man.”

Since I cannot help myself, the hope for success has been banished from me.

My words come from my upright heart, and my lips speak with sincerity what they know.

If not, then listen to me; be quiet, and I will teach you wisdom.

Who is this who obscures my counsel with ignorant words?

But come back and try again, all of you. I will not find a wise man among you.

Do you listen in on the council of God, or have a monopoly on wisdom?What do you know that we don’t? What do you understand that is not clear to us?Both the gray-haired and the elderly are with us— older than your father.

But I also have a mind like you; I am not inferior to you. Who doesn’t know the things you are talking about?

because I did not avoid declaring to you the whole plan of God.

Listen, for I speak of noble things, and what my lips say is right.For my mouth tells the truth, and wickedness is detestable to my lips.All the words from my mouth are righteous; none of them are deceptive or perverse.All of them are clear to the perceptive, and right to those who discover knowledge.

My mouth will tell about your righteousness and your salvation all day long, though I cannot sum them up.I come because of the mighty acts of the Lord GOD; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.God, you have taught me from my youth, and I still proclaim your wondrous works.Even while I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, while I proclaim your power to another generation, your strength to all who are to come.

Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who inhabit the world,both low and high, rich and poor together.My mouth speaks wisdom; my heart’s meditation brings understanding.I turn my ear to a proverb; I explain my riddle with a lyre.

If only you would shut up and let that be your wisdom!
