He evil entreateth the barren[ that] beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.

彼乃吞滅不育之婦、惡待媰孀、

當惡人存日、無子者遭其虐遇、無夫者受其摧折。

彼虐遇未生子之婦、不善待嫠婦、

They prey on the barren and childless woman, and to the widow they show no kindness.

They mistreat women who aren’t able to have children. They aren’t kind to widows.

“ They wrong the barren, childless woman, and do no good to the widow.

They cheat the woman who has no son to help her. They refuse to help the needy widow.

They prey on the childless woman who is unable to conceive, and do not deal kindly with the widow.

He wrongs the infertile woman, And does no good for the widow.

For he preys on the barren who do not bear, And does no good for the widow.

He devoureth the barren that beareth not, And doeth not good to the widow.

The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

If I have withheld the poor from[ their] desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;( For from my youth he was brought up with me, as[ with] a father, and I have guided her from my mother’s womb;)

And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.And[ as] he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.

They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow’s ox for a pledge.

Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
