Those who commit adultery wait until the sun goes down. They think,‘ No one will see us.’ They keep their faces hidden.

爾隱行此事、我將於以色列眾前、顯顯原文作日前以報爾、

他瑪見示拉雖長、未得嫁之、故去嫠服、以帕蒙面蔽體、坐亭納道旁二泉之處、他瑪蒙面、猶大見之以為妓女、

淫人妻者甚為無知、行此者必喪己命、受毀傷、被凌辱、其恥不得洗矣、因其夫知之、必嫉憾忿怒、報怨之時、決不寛宥、爾予金以贖必不許、雖餽多禮必不允、

曰、天主有何分曉、至上之主有何見識、

主諭我曰、人子、以色列族之長老各在暗中、即在其繪像之室中所為、爾觀之乎、彼意謂主不見我、主已離棄斯地、

爾曰、天主豈能知下界乎、豈能自密雲中鑒察乎、密雲障蔽於四周、決無所見、但周遊穹蒼、

毋姦淫、
