耶穌對他們說：『實行差我者的旨意、而完成他的工：這就是我的食物。

你的訓言多麼甜美、合我口味啊！它在我口中比蜜更甜。

藐視你話之人的羞辱呀。消滅他們吧，使你的話成了我的喜樂，我心中所歡喜的哦；因為永恆主萬軍之上帝啊，我是稱為你名下的人呀。

敬畏永恆主的道理是潔淨的，它立定到永遠；永恆主的典章真實，一概公義。比金子可羨慕，比許多鍊淨的金子還可愛；比蜜甘甜，比蜂房滴下的還甜。

耶穌對他們說：『我有食品喫，是你們不知道的。』

你要領受他口中的訓令，將他說的話存於心裏。

我將你的訓言珍藏於心裏，免得我犯罪得罪了你。

因此我愛你的誡命，勝於金子，勝於鍊淨的金。

於是耶穌對已經信他的猶太人說：『你們若持守着我的道，就真是我的門徒了；

堅固門徒的心，鼓勵他們要堅守信仰。又說我們要進上帝的國、經由許多苦難是必須的。』

從此門徒中就有許多人退後，不再跟耶穌同行了。於是耶穌就對那十二個人說：『難道你們也想要去麼？』西門彼得回答他說：『主啊，我們要去歸誰呢？你有永生之話語啊！我們已經相信，也已經知道、你是上帝之聖者。』

那麼在他不期待的日子、不知不覺的鐘點、那僕人的主人必來，割絕他，列他應受的處分跟不可靠的人同等。

這仍可使我受安慰；在冷酷無情的痛苦中我還可以歡躍；因為我沒有埋沒那聖者說的話。

主說：『那麼、誰是可信靠而精明的管家，主人所要委派去管理他的家僕，按時把定量食糧給他們的呢？

『但我的義僕卻必須本於信而活；他若退縮，我的心就不喜悅他』。我們呢、可不是好退縮以至於滅亡的，我們乃是有信心以保全性命的。

就該切慕心神之純淨奶子，像才生的嬰兒切慕奶子一樣，使你們靠着這個而長大、以至於得救。
