你该从他口中领受训诲，把他的话放在心里。

因此我爱你的命令，胜过金子，甚至胜过精金。

于是耶稣对信了他的犹太人说：“你们若持守我的道，就真是我的门徒了；

坚固门徒的心，劝他们恒守所信的道，又说：“我们进入神的国，必须经历许多苦难。”

从此，他的门徒中有许多人退去了，不再与他同行。于是耶稣对十二门徒说：“你们也想离去吗？”西门．彼得回答：“主啊，你有永生之道，我们还跟从谁呢？我们已经相信，并且知道你是神的圣者。”

在他想不到的日子、不知道的时间，那仆人的主人要来，严厉地处罚他，使他和不信的人同在一起。

这样，我们得安慰，在无情的痛苦之中我还可以欢跃，因为我没有否认那圣者的言语。

主说：“谁是那忠心精明的管家，被主人指派管理家里的仆人，按时分粮呢？

我的义人必因信得生，如果他后退，我的心就不喜悦他。”但我们不是那些后退以致灭亡的人，而是有信心以致保全生命的人。
