耶穌說：「我的食物就是遵行差我來者的旨意，完成祂的工作。

你的話語品嚐起來何等甘甜，在我口中勝過蜂蜜。

萬軍之上帝耶和華啊，我把你的話視為甘飴，它們是我心中的快樂和喜悅，因為我屬於你的名下。

要以純潔的心敬畏耶和華，直到永遠；耶和華的法令可靠，全然公義。這些比純金還寶貴，比蜂房的蜜更甘甜。

耶穌說：「我有食物吃，是你們不知道的。」

你要接受祂的教誨，把祂的話謹記在心。

我把你的話珍藏在心中，免得我得罪你。

我愛你的命令勝於愛金子，勝於愛純金。

耶穌對信祂的猶太人說：「你們若持守我的道，就真是我的門徒了。

堅固各地門徒的信心，鼓勵他們要持守信仰，並且說：「我們在進入上帝國的道路上必經歷許多苦難。」

從此，很多門徒離開了，不再跟從耶穌。於是耶穌問那十二個門徒：「你們也要離開我嗎？」西門·彼得答道：「主啊！你有永生之道，我們還跟從誰呢？我們已經相信並且知道你是上帝的聖者。」

主人會在他想不到的日子、不知道的時辰回來，嚴厲地懲罰他，使他和不忠不信的人同受嚴刑。

這樣，我還能感到欣慰，在殘酷的痛苦中雀躍，因我沒有違背聖者之言。

主說：「誰是那個受主人委託管理家中大小僕役、按時分糧食給他們、又忠心又精明的管家呢？

屬我的義人必靠信心而活。他若畏縮退後，我必不喜悅他。」但我們都不是退後走向滅亡的人，而是因為有信心而靈魂得救的人。

就要像初生的嬰兒一樣渴慕純淨的靈奶，好不斷成長，直到完全得救。
