But he knoweth the way that I take:[ when] he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Blessed[ is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It[ is] my people: and they shall say, The LORD[ is] my God.

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;Knowing[ this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience.But let patience have[ her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known[ me].Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted[ with] all my ways.

For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

The fining pot[ is] for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.

Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited[ me] in the night; thou hast tried me,[ and] shalt find nothing; I am purposed[ that] my mouth shall not transgress.

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath[ is] in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he[ is] like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:And he shall sit[ as] a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten[ son],

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he[ is] in thine hand; but save his life.

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done[ that which is] good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.Wherefore I abhor[ myself], and repent in dust and ashes.And it was[ so], that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me[ the thing that is] right, as my servant Job[ hath].Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you[ after your] folly, in that ye have not spoken of me[ the thing which is] right, like my servant Job.

He saith unto him the third time, Simon,[ son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee,[ and] to prove thee, to know what[ was] in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
