When people are brought low and you say,‘ Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast.

For when they are humbled you say,‘ It is because of pride’; but he saves the lowly.

If people are in trouble and you say,‘ Help them,’ God will save them.

When others are humiliated and you say,“ Lift them up,” God will save the humble.

When they have brought you low, you will speak with confidence, And He will save the humble person.

When they cast you down, and you say,‘ Exaltation will come!’ Then He will save the humble person.

When they cast thee down, thou shalt say, There is lifting up; And the humble person he will save.

When others are humiliated and you say,“ Lift them up,” God will save the humble.

When[ men] are cast down, then thou shalt say,[ There is] lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

In the same way, I’m speaking to you who are younger. Follow the lead of those who are older. All of you, put on a spirit free of pride toward one another. Put it on as if it were your clothes. Do this because Scripture says,“ God opposes those who are proud. But he gives grace to those who are humble.”( Proverbs 3:34)

But God continues to give us more grace. That’s why Scripture says,“ God opposes those who are proud. But he gives grace to those who are humble.”( Proverbs 3:34)

People who lift themselves up will be made humble. And people who make themselves humble will be lifted up.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones. But he has lifted up people who are not considered important.

From six troubles he will save you. Even if you are in trouble seven times, no harm will come to you.When there isn’t enough food, God will keep you from dying. When you go into battle, he won’t let a sword strike you down.He will keep you safe from words that can hurt you. You won’t need to be afraid when everything is being destroyed.You will laugh when things are being destroyed. You will enjoy life even when there isn’t enough food. You won’t be afraid of wild animals.You will make a covenant with the stones in the fields. They won’t keep your crops from growing. Even wild animals will be at peace with you.You will know that the tent you live in is secure. You will check out your property. You will see that nothing is missing.You can be sure you will have a lot of children. They will be as many as the blades of grass on the earth.You will go down to the grave while you are still very strong. You will be like a crop that is gathered at the right time.“ We have carefully studied all these things. And they are true. So pay attention to them. Apply them to yourself.”

Pride brings a person low. But those whose spirits are low will be honored.

Though the Lord is high above all, he cares for the lowly. Though he is in heaven above, he sees them on earth below.

Didn’t I make everything by my power? That is how all things were created,” announces the Lord.“ The people I value are not proud. They are sorry for the wrong things they have done. They have great respect for what I say.

The Lord and King says,“ Take off your turban. Remove your crown. Things will not be as they were in the past. Those who are considered not important will be honored. And those who are honored will be considered not important.Jerusalem will fall. I will destroy it. It will not be rebuilt until the true king comes. After all, the kingdom belongs to him. I will give it to him.

Jesus told a story to some people who were sure they were right with God. They looked down on everyone else.He said to them,“ Two men went up to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee. The other was a tax collector.The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed.‘ God, I thank you that I am not like other people,’ he said.‘ I am not like robbers or those who do other evil things. I am not like those who commit adultery. I am not even like this tax collector.I fast twice a week. And I give a tenth of all I get.’“ But the tax collector stood farther away than the Pharisee. He would not even look up to heaven. He brought his hand to his heart and prayed. He said,‘ God, have mercy on me. I am a sinner.’“ I tell you, the tax collector went home accepted by God. But not the Pharisee. All those who lift themselves up will be made humble. And those who make themselves humble will be lifted up.”

The Lord says,“ I will save the one who loves me. I will keep him safe, because he trusts in me.He will call out to me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in times of trouble. I will save him and honor him.I will give him a long and full life. I will save him.”

Lord, your enemies will certainly die. All those who do evil will be scattered.You have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have poured the finest olive oil on me.I’ve seen my evil enemies destroyed. I’ve heard that they have lost the battle.

The God who is highly honored lives forever. His name is holy. He says,“ I live in a high and holy place. But I also live with anyone who turns away from their sins. I live with anyone who is not proud. I give new life to them. I give it to anyone who turns away from their sins.

I will be glad and full of joy because of you. Most High God, I will sing the praises of your name.My enemies turn back. They fall down and die right in front of you.

All those who lift themselves up will be made humble. And those who make themselves humble will be lifted up.”
