Can a man be of any use to God? Can even a wise man be of use to him?

“人岂能使神有益呢？智慧人但能有益于己。

“人能使上帝有益吗？智慧人能使他有益吗？

“人能使神有益吗？智慧人能使他有益吗？

“人对上帝能有何益处？即使智者对祂又有何益？

“人对神能有什么益处呢？明智的人只能益己。

人豈能使神有益呢？智慧人但能有益於己。

「人能使上帝有益嗎？智慧人能使他有益嗎？

「人能使神有益嗎？智慧人能使他有益嗎？

「人對上帝能有何益處？即使智者對祂又有何益？

“人對神能有甚麼益處呢？明智的人只能益己。

『人對上帝哪能有用處呢？明智人只能對自己有用處而已。

世人豈能益上帝乎、智者祇益己耳、

賢者惟自獲其益、原無所裨於上帝。

世人豈能益於天主乎、智慧者智慧者或作賢者惟自益耳、

“ Can a man be of benefit to God? Can even a wise person benefit him?

“ Can any person be of benefit to God? Can even a wise person be of any help to him?

“ Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

“ Can a person do anything to help God? Can even a wise person be helpful to him?

“ Can a strong man be of use to God, Or a wise one be useful to himself?

“ Can a man be profitable to God, Though he who is wise may be profitable to himself?

Can a man be profitable unto God? Surely he that is wise is profitable unto himself.

Can a man be of any use to God? Can even a wise man be of use to Him?

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

“ Is it to God that a strong man is of benefit? Is it to him that even a wise man is profitable?

“ Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say,‘ We are unworthy servants; we’ve only done our duty.’”

I said to the LORD,“ You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides you.”

Happy is a man who finds wisdom and who acquires understanding,for she is more profitable than silver, and her revenue is better than gold.She is more precious than jewels; nothing you desire can equal her.Long life is in her right hand; in her left, riches and honor.Her ways are pleasant, and all her paths, peaceful.She is a tree of life to those who embrace her, and those who hold on to her are happy.

If you sin, how does it affect God? If you multiply your transgressions, what does it do to him?If you are righteous, what do you give him, or what does he receive from your hand?Your wickedness affects a person like yourself, and your righteousness, a son of man.

Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him, and what will we gain by pleading with him?”

Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows he will also reap,because the one who sows to his flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

Keep the LORD’s commands and statutes I am giving you today, for your own good.

If you are wise, you are wise for your own benefit; if you mock, you alone will bear the consequences.”

If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Wisdom is as good as an inheritance and an advantage to those who see the sun,because wisdom is protection as silver is protection; but the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of its owner.

Wisdom is supreme— so get wisdom. And whatever else you get, get understanding.Cherish her, and she will exalt you; if you embrace her, she will honor you.She will place a garland of favor on your head; she will give you a crown of beauty.”
