他的日期未到之先，這事必成就；他的枝子不得青綠。

挪亞的日子怎樣，人子降臨也要怎樣。當洪水以前的日子，人照常吃喝嫁娶，直到挪亞進方舟的那日；不知不覺洪水來了，把他們全都沖去。人子降臨也要這樣。

洪水氾濫在地上四十天，水往上長，把方舟從地上漂起。水勢浩大，在地上大大地往上長，方舟在水面上漂來漂去。水勢在地上極其浩大，天下的高山都淹沒了。水勢比山高過十五肘，山嶺都淹沒了。凡在地上有血肉的動物，就是飛鳥、牲畜、走獸，和爬在地上的昆蟲，以及所有的人，都死了。凡在旱地上、鼻孔有氣息的生靈都死了。凡地上各類的活物，連人帶牲畜、昆蟲，以及空中的飛鳥，都從地上除滅了，只留下挪亞和那些與他同在方舟裏的。水勢浩大，在地上共一百五十天。

他藉這靈曾去傳道給那些在監獄裏的靈聽，就是那從前在挪亞預備方舟、神容忍等待的時候，不信從的人。當時進入方舟，藉着水得救的不多，只有八個人。

神也沒有寬容上古的世代，曾叫洪水臨到那不敬虔的世代，卻保護了傳義道的挪亞一家八口。

當挪亞六百歲，二月十七日那一天，大淵的泉源都裂開了，天上的窗戶也敞開了，

我說：我的神啊，不要使我中年去世。你的年數世世無窮！

神啊，你必使惡人下入滅亡的坑；流人血、行詭詐的人必活不到半世，但我要倚靠你。

凡聽見我這話不去行的，好比一個無知的人，把房子蓋在沙土上；雨淋，水沖，風吹，撞着那房子，房子就倒塌了，並且倒塌得很大。」

不要行惡過分，也不要為人愚昧，何必不到期而死呢？

水流消磨石頭，所流溢的洗去地上的塵土；你也照樣滅絕人的指望。
