Since man’s days are determined and the number of his months depends on You, and since You have set limits he cannot pass,

If his sons receive honor, he does not know it; if they become insignificant, he is unaware of it.

I say:“ My God, do not take me in the middle of my life! Your years continue through all generations.

I hated all my work that I labored at under the sun because I must leave it to the man who comes after me.And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will take over all my work that I labored at skillfully under the sun. This too is futile.

God, You will bring them down to the Pit of destruction; men of bloodshed and treachery will not live out half their days. But I will trust in You.
