But their prosperity is not in their own hands, so I stand aloof from the plans of the wicked.

But they aren’t in control of their own success. So I don’t pay any attention to their plans.

Selah.The righteous also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying,“ Behold, this is the man who didn’t make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”

My soul, don’t come into their council. My glory, don’t be united to their assembly; for in their anger they killed men. In their self- will they hamstrung cattle.

Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches—none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him.

My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.

There is no man who has power over the spirit to contain the spirit; neither does he have power over the day of death. There is no discharge in war; neither shall wickedness deliver those who practice it.

Who doesn’t know that in all these, Yahweh’s hand has done this,in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?
