Lo, their good[ is] not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

But their prosperity is not in their own hands, so I stand aloof from the plans of the wicked.

But they aren’t in control of their own success. So I don’t pay any attention to their plans.

Behold, is not their prosperity in their hand? The counsel of the wicked is far from me.

( They think their prosperity is of their own doing, but I will have nothing to do with that kind of thinking.)

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of[ thy] dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;None[ of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

[ There is] no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither[ hath he] power in the day of death: and[ there is] no discharge in[ that] war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.

And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?In whose hand[ is] the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
