豈不知、亙古以來、自從有人在地上、

爾豈不知伊古以來、置人於世、

豈不聞自生民以來、有古語焉。

豈不知自亙古、自有人在世以來、作惡者歡呼不長、偽善者喜樂不過俄頃、

“ Surely you know how it has been from of old, ever since mankind was placed on the earth,

“ I’m sure you must know how things have always been. They’ve been that way ever since human beings were placed on this earth.

Do you not know this from of old, since man was placed on earth,

“ Don’t you realize that from the beginning of time, ever since people were first placed on the earth,

Don’t you know that ever since antiquity, from the time a human was placed on earth,

Do you know this from ancient times, From the establishment of mankind on earth,

Knowest thou not this of old time, Since man was placed upon earth,

Don’t you know that ever since antiquity, from the time man was placed on earth,

Knowest thou[ not] this of old, since man was placed upon earth,

“ Surely you know that it has been from old, ever since humankind was placed on the earth,

Don’t you know this from old time, since man was placed on earth,

I said,‘ Age should speak, And multitude of years should teach wisdom.’

“ For inquire, please, of the former age, And consider the things discovered by their fathers;For we were born yesterday, and know nothing, Because our days on earth are a shadow.

So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them:“ Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand.Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.

Then God blessed them, and God said to them,“ Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.

Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us, Much older than your father.
