though he cannot bear to let it go and lets it linger in his mouth,

They can’t stand to let it go. So they hold it in their mouths.

though he is loath to let it go and holds it in his mouth,

They savored it, holding it long in their mouths.

though he cherishes it and will not let it go but keeps it in his mouth,

Though he desires it and will not let it go, But holds it in his mouth,

Though he spare it, and will not let it go, But keep it still within his mouth;

[ Though] he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:

if he retains it for himself and does not let it go, and holds it fast in his mouth,

Then you shall say to the people,‘ Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.You shall eat, not one day, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days,but for a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes loathsome to you, because you have despised the Lord who is among you, and have wept before Him, saying,“ Why did we ever come up out of Egypt?”’”

For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched—
