though he cannot bear to let it go and lets it linger in his mouth,

They can’t stand to let it go. So they hold it in their mouths.

They savored it, holding it long in their mouths.

though he cherishes it and will not let it go but keeps it in his mouth,

Though he spares it and does not forsake it, But still keeps it in his mouth,

for if you are living in accord with the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed, than, having your two hands, to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire.

Now if your right eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.And if your right hand is causing you to sin, cut it off and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.
