利盡天下、而失生命者、何益之有、人將以何者易生命乎、

我語汝、勿慮生何以食、何以飲、身何以衣、生非大於糧、身不大於衣乎、

是日也、人以所作之金銀偶像、居恆所崇拜者、投於鼹鼠蝙蝠之穴。耶和華有威可畏、勃然而興、地以震動、人必入於磐巖、匿於窟穴、以避其災。

其中有十人、告以實馬利曰、我有麰麥小麥、油與蜜、藏於田、毋殺予。於是釋之、不與同儕就戮。

對曰、如王悅施恩婢子、則俯聽我祈、宥我生命、救我民族。蓋我與我民、為人所陷、殺戮殞亡、即鬻我為奴婢、我亦無詞、惟有損於王、敵雖輸金、無所裨補。
