不但如此，我已把萬事當作是有損的，因我以認識我主基督耶穌為至寶。我為他已經丟棄萬事，看作糞土，為要贏得基督，並且得以在他裏面，不是有自己因律法而得的義，而是有信基督的義，就是基於信，從上帝而來的義，使我認識基督，知道他復活的大能，並且知道和他一同受苦，效法他的死，

人若賺得全世界，賠上自己的生命，有甚麼益處呢？人還能拿甚麼換生命呢？

「所以，我告訴你們，不要為你們的生命憂慮吃甚麼喝甚麼，或為你們的身體憂慮穿甚麼。生命不勝於飲食嗎？身體不勝於衣裳嗎？

到那日，人必將造來敬拜的金偶像、銀偶像拋給田鼠和蝙蝠。耶和華興起使地大震動的時候，人就進入磐縫和巖隙裏，躲避耶和華的驚嚇和他威嚴的榮光。

只是他們中間有十個人對以實瑪利說：「不要殺我們，因為我們有許多大麥、小麥、油和蜜藏在田間。」於是他住手，沒有在弟兄中間殺他們。

以斯帖王后回答說：「王啊，我若在你眼前蒙恩，王若以為好，我所要的，是王把我的性命賜給我；我所求的，是求我的本族。因為我和我的本族被出賣了，要被剪除，殺戮，滅絕。我們若被賣為奴為婢，我就閉口不言；但我們的痛苦比起王的損失，算不得甚麼。」

我們被風浪逼得很急，第二天眾人就把貨物拋在海裏。第三天，他們又親手把船上的器具拋棄了。
