不但這樣，我也把萬事當作是有損的，因為我以認識我主基督耶穌為至寶。為了他，我把萬事都拋棄了，看作廢物，為了要得著基督。並且得以在他裡面，不是有自己因律法而得的義，而是有因信基督而得的義，就是基於信心，從神而來的義，使我認識基督和他復活的大能，並且在他所受的苦上有分，受他所受的死；

人若賺得全世界，卻賠上自己的生命，有甚麼好處呢？人還能用甚麼換回自己的生命呢？

所以我告訴你們，不要為生命憂慮吃甚麼喝甚麼，也不要為身體憂慮穿甚麼。難道生命不比食物重要嗎？身體不比衣服重要嗎？

到那日，人必把那些自己所做、供自己敬拜的金偶像和銀偶像，拋給田鼠和蝙蝠。這樣，當耶和華起來，大地震動的時候，他們就能進入磐石縫中和巖石隙裡，躲避耶和華的驚嚇和他威嚴的榮光。

只是他們中間有十個人卻對以實瑪利說：“請不要殺死我們！因為我們有許多小麥、大麥、油和蜜，埋藏在田間。”他就住了手，沒有把這十個人在他們的兄弟中一同殺死。

王后以斯帖回答，說：“我若是在你眼前蒙恩，王若是喜歡，我所要的，是要王把我的性命賜給我；我所求的，是求王把我的族人賜給我。因為我和我的族人被人出賣，快要毀滅，被殺盡、滅絕了。我們若是只被賣為奴婢，我也必閉口不言，但王的損失是敵人不能補償的。”

風浪把我們顛簸得很厲害，第二天他們就把貨物拋在海裡，第三天又親手把船上的用具扔掉。
