不但这样，我也把万事当作是有损的，因为我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝。为了他，我把万事都抛弃了，看作废物，为了要得着基督。并且得以在他里面，不是有自己因律法而得的义，而是有因信基督而得的义，就是基于信心，从神而来的义，使我认识基督和他复活的大能，并且在他所受的苦上有分，受他所受的死；

人若赚得全世界，却赔上自己的生命，有什么好处呢？人还能用什么换回自己的生命呢？

所以我告诉你们，不要为生命忧虑吃什么喝什么，也不要为身体忧虑穿什么。难道生命不比食物重要吗？身体不比衣服重要吗？

到那日，人必把那些自己所做、供自己敬拜的金偶像和银偶像，抛给田鼠和蝙蝠。这样，当耶和华起来，大地震动的时候，他们就能进入磐石缝中和岩石隙里，躲避耶和华的惊吓和他威严的荣光。

只是他们中间有十个人却对以实玛利说：“请不要杀死我们！因为我们有许多小麦、大麦、油和蜜，埋藏在田间。”他就住了手，没有把这十个人在他们的兄弟中一同杀死。

王后以斯帖回答，说：“我若是在你眼前蒙恩，王若是喜欢，我所要的，是要王把我的性命赐给我；我所求的，是求王把我的族人赐给我。因为我和我的族人被人出卖，快要毁灭，被杀尽、灭绝了。我们若是只被卖为奴婢，我也必闭口不言，但王的损失是敌人不能补偿的。”

风浪把我们颠簸得很厉害，第二天他们就把货物抛在海里，第三天又亲手把船上的用具扔掉。
