Behold, I cry out,‘ Violence!’ but I am not answered; I call for help, but there is no justice.

“ I cry out,‘ Help!’ but no one answers me. I protest, but there is no justice.

I cry out,“ Violence!” but get no response; I call for help, but there is no justice.

“ Behold, I cry,‘ Violence!’ but I get no answer; I shout for help, but there is no justice.

“ If I cry out concerning wrong, I am not heard. If I cry aloud, there is no justice.

Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry for help, but there is no justice.

I cry out:“ Violence!” but get no response; I call for help, but there is no justice.

Does it please you to oppress me, to spurn the work of your hands, while you smile on the plans of the wicked? (niv)

“ I know full well what you are thinking, the schemes by which you would wrong me. (niv)

My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest. (niv)

If only I knew where to find him; if only I could go to his dwelling!I would state my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.I would find out what he would answer me, and consider what he would say to me.Would he vigorously oppose me? No, he would not press charges against me.There the upright can establish their innocence before him, and there I would be delivered forever from my judge. (niv)

Whenever I speak, I cry out proclaiming violence and destruction. So the word of the Lord has brought me insult and reproach all day long. (niv)

If so, I will be silent and die.“ Only grant me these two things, God, and then I will not hide from you:Withdraw your hand far from me, and stop frightening me with your terrors.Then summon me and I will answer, or let me speak, and you reply to me.How many wrongs and sins have I committed?
