People who make fun of me are all around me. I’m forced to watch as they attack me with their words.

Surely there are mockers about me, and my eye dwells on their provocation.

I am surrounded by mockers. I watch how bitterly they taunt me.

Surely mockers surround me, and my eyes must gaze at their rebellion.

Mockers are certainly with me, And my eye gazes on their provocation.

Are not mockers with me? And does not my eye dwell on their provocation?

Because the Lord had closed Hannah’s womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her.This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat.

My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God;

“ I have become a laughingstock to my friends, though I called on God and he answered— a mere laughingstock, though righteous and blameless!

Would it turn out well if he examined you? Could you deceive him as you might deceive a mortal?

Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”In the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother.But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; assailants gathered against me without my knowledge. They slandered me without ceasing.Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked; they gnashed their teeth at me.

They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land.
