If I wait, the grave[ is] mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.

我若盼望阴间为我的房屋，若下榻在黑暗中，

我若盼望阴间为我的家，若下榻在黑暗中，

我若期望阴间作我的家园，在黑暗之地铺设我的床榻，

我若等待阴间作我的家，在黑暗中铺张我的床榻；

我若盼望陰間為我的房屋，若下榻在黑暗中，

我若盼望陰間為我的家，若下榻在黑暗中，

我若期望陰間作我的家園，在黑暗之地鋪設我的床榻，

我若等待陰間作我的家，在黑暗中鋪張我的床榻；

假使我盼望陰間做我的房屋，假使我在黑暗中展開我的鋪蓋，

我若冀陰府為室、於幽暗下榻、

別無所望、惟以墓為室、長眠地下。

我若所望無他、惟以示阿勒示阿勒見七章九節小註為我之宅、下榻於幽暗中、

If the only home I hope for is the grave, if I spread out my bed in the realm of darkness,

Suppose the only home I can hope for is a grave. And suppose I make my bed in the darkness of death.

If I hope for Sheol as my house, if I make my bed in darkness,

What if I go to the grave and make my bed in darkness?

If I await Sheol as my home, spread out my bed in darkness,

If I hope for Sheol as my home, I make my bed in the darkness;

If I wait for the grave as my house, If I make my bed in the darkness,

If I look for Sheol as my house; If I have spread my couch in the darkness;

If I await Sheol as my home, spread out my bed in darkness,

If I hope for the grave to be my home, if I spread out my bed in darkness,

If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have spread my couch in the darkness,

My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves[ are ready] for me.

He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds,[ each one] walking[ in] his uprightness.

For I know[ that] thou wilt bring me[ to] death, and[ to] the house appointed for all living.

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

Before I go[ whence] I shall not return,[ even] to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;A land of darkness, as darkness[ itself; and] of the shadow of death, without any order, and[ where] the light[ is] as darkness.

If a man die, shall he live[ again]? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

The LORD[ is] good unto them that wait for him, to the soul[ that] seeketh him.[ It is] good that[ a man] should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

If I ascend up into heaven, thou[ art] there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou[ art there].
