愿人得与神辩白，如同人与朋友辩白一样；

He makes his appeal to God to help me as a person pleads for a friend.

that he would argue the case of a man with God, as a son of man does with his neighbor.

I need someone to mediate between God and me, as a person mediates between friends.

I wish that someone might argue for a man with God just as anyone would for a friend.

That one might plead for a man with God As a son of man with his neighbor!

Oh, that one might plead for a man with God, As a man pleads for his neighbor!

That he would maintain the right of a man with God, And of a son of man with his neighbor!

I wish that someone might arbitrate between a man and God just as a man pleads for his friend.

O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man[ pleadeth] for his neighbour!

and he contends with God on behalf of man as a man pleads for his friend.

But I desire to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with God. (niv)

The Lord said to Job:“ Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!”Then Job answered the Lord:“ I am unworthy— how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth.I spoke once, but I have no answer— twice, but I will say no more.” (niv)

(“ Oh, that I had someone to hear me! I sign now my defense— let the Almighty answer me; let my accuser put his indictment in writing. (niv)

But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God?“ Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,‘ Why did you make me like this?’” (niv)

If only I knew where to find him; if only I could go to his dwelling!I would state my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.I would find out what he would answer me, and consider what he would say to me.Would he vigorously oppose me? No, he would not press charges against me.There the upright can establish their innocence before him, and there I would be delivered forever from my judge. (niv)

Then summon me and I will answer, or let me speak, and you reply to me. (niv)

Whatever exists has already been named, and what humanity is has been known; no one can contend with someone who is stronger. (niv)
