For the congregation of hypocrites[ shall be] desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.

不信上帝之辈必不生育，受贿者的帐篷必被火烧。

因为不敬虔的人必不能生育，火必吞灭收受贿赂者的帐幕。

不虔之輩、必無果實、貪賄之幕、必被焚燬、

偽善之人、家必蕭條、貪賄之徒、室必焚燬。

偽善或作作惡之輩、必零落無後、貪賄者之室、必被火焚、

For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of those who love bribes.

People who are ungodly won’t have any children. Fire will burn up the tents of people who accept money from those who want special favors.

For the company of the godless is barren, and fire consumes the tents of bribery.

For the godless are barren. Their homes, enriched through bribery, will burn.

For the company of the godless will have no children, and fire will consume the tents of those who offer bribes.

For the company of the godless is barren, And fire consumes the tents of the corrupt.

For the company of hypocrites will be barren, And fire will consume the tents of bribery.

For the company of the godless shall be barren, And fire shall consume the tents of bribery.

So[ are] the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:

And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

Behold, here I[ am]: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received[ any] bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

Forasmuch therefore as your treading[ is] upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate[ from their right].

The good[ man] is perished out of the earth: and[ there is] none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.

The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

[ Is] not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.But[ as for] the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

For what[ is] the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and[ him that had] none to help him.The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment[ was] as a robe and a diadem.I was eyes to the blind, and feet[ was] I to the lame.I[ was] a father to the poor: and the cause[ which] I knew not I searched out.And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.

They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth[ abundantly].

And shall cut him asunder, and appoint[ him] his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

If iniquity[ be] in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
