其言曰、作惡者畢生悚懼、強暴者不知死亡之何日。

其言曰、作惡者悚懼悚懼或作痛苦終身、天主為強暴者所定之年數亦若此、

All his days the wicked man suffers torment, the ruthless man through all the years stored up for him.

Sinful people always suffer pain. Mean people suffer all their lives.

This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’“ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

You turn man to destruction, And say,“ Return, O children of men.”For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it is past, And like a watch in the night.

This is an evil in all that is done under the sun: that one thing happens to all. Truly the hearts of the sons of men are full of evil; madness is in their hearts while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
