其言曰、惡人終身勞苦、一生之日、即為強暴所積之年、

其言曰、作惡者畢生悚懼、強暴者不知死亡之何日。

其言曰、作惡者悚懼悚懼或作痛苦終身、天主為強暴者所定之年數亦若此、

All his days the wicked man suffers torment, the ruthless man through all the years stored up for him.

Sinful people always suffer pain. Mean people suffer all their lives.

Come now, you rich! “ Why are times not appointed by the Almighty? Why do those who know him not see his days?

This is the portion of the wicked man allotted by God, the inheritance that evildoers receive from the Almighty.

And I will say to myself,“ You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, but is not rich toward God.”

You make mankind return to the dust, and say,“ Return, O people!”Yes, in your eyes a thousand years are like yesterday that quickly passes, or like one of the divisions of the nighttime.

This is the unfortunate fact about everything that happens on earth: the same fate awaits everyone. In addition to this, the hearts of all people are full of evil, and there is folly in their hearts during their lives– then they die.

For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now.

So teach us to consider our mortality, so that we might live wisely.
