其言曰、惡人終身勞苦、一生之日、即為強暴所積之年、

其言曰、作惡者畢生悚懼、強暴者不知死亡之何日。

其言曰、作惡者悚懼悚懼或作痛苦終身、天主為強暴者所定之年數亦若此、

All his days the wicked man suffers torment, the ruthless man through all the years stored up for him.

Sinful people always suffer pain. Mean people suffer all their lives.

And I will say to myself,“ You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!” ’But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your soul is demanded of you; and as for all that you have prepared, who will own it now?’Such is the one who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich in relation to God.”

You turn mortals back into dust And say,“ Return, you sons of mankind.”For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or like a watch in the night.

This is an evil in everything that is done under the sun, that there is one fate for everyone. Furthermore, the hearts of the sons of mankind are full of evil, and insanity is in their hearts throughout their lives. Afterward they go to the dead.

For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.
