You decide how long anyone will live. You have established the number of his months. You have set a limit to the number of his days.

人的日子既然限定，他的月数在你那里，你也派定他的界限，使他不能越过，

既然人的日子限定，他的月数在于你，你划定他的界限，他不能越过；

既然人的日子限定，他的月数在于你，你划定他的界限，他不能越过；

人的年日已被限定，你掌管他的岁月，设定他无法逾越的界限。

人的日子既然被限定，他的月数亦在乎你，你也定下他的界限，使他不能越过。

人之年日既定、月數在爾、爾為之立限制、不能踰越、

人之生也、其數有定、其限難越、爾使之然、

人之年日無多、其月之數、為主所定、主為之定限、不能踰越、

A person’s days are determined; you have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.

Since his days are determined, and the number of his months is with you, and you have appointed his limits that he cannot pass,

You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer.

I said,“ Lord, show me when my life will end. Show me how many days I have left. Tell me how short my life will be.

From one man he made all the people of the world. Now they live all over the earth. He decided exactly when they should live. And he decided exactly where they should live.

What do they care about the families they leave behind? What do they care about them when their lives come to an end?

“ But God said to him,‘ You foolish man! Tonight I will take your life away from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

People have to die once. After that, God will judge them.

“ But he’s the only God. Who can oppose him? He does anything he wants to do.He carries out his plans against me. And he still has many other plans just like them.

He holds the life of every creature in his hand. He controls the breath of every human being.

When you turn your face away from them, they are terrified. When you take away their breath, they die and turn back into dust.

“ And here is what these words mean.“ The word Mene means that God has limited the time of your rule. He has brought it to an end.

You drew a line they can’t cross. They will never cover the earth again.

That very night Belshazzar, the king of Babylon, was killed.

Job continued,“ Don’t all human beings have to work hard on this earth? Aren’t their days like the days of hired workers?

“ Here is what I command you to write to the church in Philadelphia. Here are the words of Jesus, who is holy and true. He holds the key of David. No one can shut what he opens. And no one can open what he shuts. He says,

If someone dies, will they live again? All the days of my hard work I will wait for the time when you give me new life.

He considers all the nations on earth to be nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven. He does what he wants with the nations of the earth. No one can hold back his hand. No one can say to him,“ What have you done?”

“ The Lord has appointed 70‘ weeks’ for your people and your holy city. During that time, acts against God’s law will be stopped. Sin will come to an end. And the evil things people do will be paid for. Then everyone will always do what is right. Everything that has been made known in visions and prophecies will come true. And the Most Holy Room in the temple will be anointed.

“ A certain king will do as he pleases. He will honor himself. He will put himself above every god. He will say things against the greatest God of all. Those things have never been heard before. He will have success until God is not angry anymore. What God has decided to do must take place.

I am the Living One. I was dead. But now look! I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys to Death and Hell.
