人乃婦女誕育、既不永年、且多憂慮。

人乃婦人所生、年雖少而煩惱多、年雖少而煩惱多或作既不永年且多煩惱

Human beings have only a few days to live. Their lives are full of trouble.

“ Man who is born of a woman is few of days and full of trouble.

“ How frail is humanity! How short is life, how full of trouble!

Anyone born of woman is short of days and full of trouble.

“ Man, who is born of woman, Is short lived and full of turmoil.

“ Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble.

Man, that is born of a woman, Is of few days, and full of trouble.

Man born of woman is short of days and full of trouble.

Man[ that is] born of a woman[ is] of few days, and full of trouble.

“ Man, born of woman, lives but a few days, and they are full of trouble.

“ Man, who is born of a woman, is of few days, and full of trouble.

Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward.

How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure?

All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.

And Jacob said to Pharaoh,“ The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult, and they do not equal the years of the pilgrimage of my fathers.”

“ Do not mortals have hard service on earth? Are not their days like those of hired laborers?

Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.

Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

“ My days are swifter than a runner; they fly away without a glimpse of joy.

“ What are mortals, that they could be pure, or those born of woman, that they could be righteous?

“ My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and they come to an end without hope.
