But I desire to speak to the Almighty and to argue my case with God.

In fact, I long to speak to the Mighty One. I want to argue my case with God.

But I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God.

As for me, I would speak directly to the Almighty. I want to argue my case with God himself.

Yet I prefer to speak to the Almighty and argue my case before God.

“ But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to argue with God.

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God.

Yet I prefer to speak to the Almighty and argue my case before God.

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

But I wish to speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God.

“ Surely I would speak to the Almighty. I desire to reason with God.

“ Present your case,” says the Lord.“ Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob.

Then call, and I will answer; Or let me speak, then You respond to me.

If one wished to contend with Him, He could not answer Him one time out of a thousand.

“ Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord,“ Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Oh, that I had one to hear me! Here is my mark. Oh, that the Almighty would answer me, That my Prosecutor had written a book!

Oh, that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come to His seat!I would present my case before Him, And fill my mouth with arguments.I would know the words which He would answer me, And understand what He would say to me.Would He contend with me in His great power? No! But He would take note of me.There the upright could reason with Him, And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.

Hear, O you mountains, the LORD’s complaint, And you strong foundations of the earth; For the Lord has a complaint against His people, And He will contend with Israel.

“ How then can I answer Him, And choose my words to reason with Him?For though I were righteous, I could not answer Him; I would beg mercy of my Judge.

Righteous are You, O Lord, when I plead with You; Yet let me talk with You about Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are those happy who deal so treacherously?You have planted them, yes, they have taken root; They grow, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth But far from their mind.

But oh, that God would speak, And open His lips against you,

Let Him take His rod away from me, And do not let dread of Him terrify me.Then I would speak and not fear Him, But it is not so with me.

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.
