God might kill me, but I have no other hope. I am going to argue my case with him.

他必杀我；我虽无指望，然而我在他面前还要辩明我所行的。

Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.

“ But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.

The wicked are crushed by disaster, but the godly have a refuge when they die.

I will never concede that you are right; I will defend my integrity until I die.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow— not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.No power in the sky above or in the earth below— indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

“ Do you still want to argue with the Almighty? You are God’s critic, but do you have the answers?”

I would lay out my case and present my arguments.Then I would listen to his reply and understand what he says to me.Would he use his great power to argue with me? No, he would give me a fair hearing.Honest people can reason with him, so I would be forever acquitted by my judge.

“ But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last.And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God!I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought!“ How dare you go on persecuting me, saying,‘ It’s his own fault’?

I have prepared my case; I will be proved innocent.

“ Will you discredit my justice and condemn me just to prove you are right?

I need someone to mediate between God and me, as a person mediates between friends.

“ My days fly faster than a weaver’s shuttle. They end without hope.

Yet I have done no wrong, and my prayer is pure.

Although you know I am not guilty, no one can rescue me from your hands.

“ I am nothing— how could I ever find the answers? I will cover my mouth with my hand.I have said too much already. I have nothing more to say.”

“ My servants have never said,‘ He let others go hungry.’I have never turned away a stranger but have opened my doors to everyone.“ Have I tried to hide my sins like other people do, concealing my guilt in my heart?Have I feared the crowd or the contempt of the masses, so that I kept quiet and stayed indoors?“ If only someone would listen to me! Look, I will sign my name to my defense. Let the Almighty answer me. Let my accuser write out the charges against me.I would face the accusation proudly. I would wear it like a crown.For I would tell him exactly what I have done. I would come before him like a prince.
